pironex GmbH develops customer-specific GPS / GSM / GPRS tracking systems for mobile applications, data acquisition and stationary data recording. At the same time, standard functions such as object location are implemented in real-time or route recording. The stored data is visualized in realtime using Windows, iOS or Android app or transferred to external backend systems via various interfaces. Data is exchanged via adaptively adaptable REST APIs.

Container tracking and construction machine monitoring

Our accredited tracking solutions for container and machine tracking and monitoring are used to determine the position using GPS and to transmit the position data via GSM / GPRS / SMS. The integrated power-saving microcontroller enables an extremely long autonomous operating time.

Thanks to an integrated acceleration sensor, changes in the location of the monitored object can be recognized, evaluated and recorded. Additional sensors enable the monitoring, for example, of the temperature of the containers.

Connected Bike - Data capture and online transmission

Due to customer requirements, we provide vehicles such as Bicycles with intelligently networked systems. A miniaturized electronics is integrated into the vehicle and read or controlled via mobile smartphone apps or WEB systems. Microcurrent Therapy Device -With PC Windows software for initialization and control of treatment

Development of a DC stimulation device. The area of application extends from the patient device for individual treatment of one's own, to inpatient treatment, to study purposes.
A PC software is used to configure the stimulation device and to read out a treatment history by the attending physician or study leader.
The system is based on 16bit microcontroller and contains 3.2 inch TFT display with touch, USB charging for 3.7 lithium polymer batteries, dual 60V pulse output as well as 2 galvanically isolated channels.

Stepper Motor Controller for Medical Devices - Control Rotational Motion for a Laboratory Mixer

Circuit parts of this stepper motor controller such as the charger, motor control, microcontroller unit and keyboard interface have been optimized for extremely low power consumption. The final system contained elements like XMOS, flexible CAN interfaces and multifunctional IOs.

Medical Therapy Device - Microcontroller Solution for treating of snoring

This product was designed to alleviate positional snoring and realized in the form of a functional model. The essential components of the solution are a control system and a remote control with infrared receiver.
The control system contains electronic and pneumatic components. The task of controlling the system is taken over by a 32-bit microcontroller Atmel AT32UC3A3256.
The device contains digital I²C pressure sensors, μSD card, JTAG interface for programming and debugging, as well as Mini USB interface.

Measuring amplifier for patch-clamp technique - Development of an electronics for cell resistance measurement

The aim of the project was the development of chip, measurement technology (measuring range from 1pA / V to 100mA / V), process technology for the 2-channel patch chip for patch clamp of voltage-controlled and ligand-controlled ion channels. The amplifier technology is to be extended with innovative technology for Current Clamp. The innovation level of the new development of the automated channel patch clamp amplifier system was that in addition to the pure concept of a patch clamp amplifier, additional communication paths to external electronic components and measuring systems were implemented  .
The most significant characteristics of the project are:
parallel DSP interface, 4-stage compensation network, automatic offset correction,  via digital potentiometers switchable interference voltage compensation, transimpedance preamplifier with a small input quiescent current, 8 pole low pass Bessel filter for noise reduction, open CPLD flexibility, API.

Dual stepper motor control - Trinamic control for medical devices

The developed syringe pump has two stepper motors and serves to turn a valve. Another pump moves a syringe plunger over a recirculating ball.
A rotary encoder was used to detect valve position. The current position of the syringe is recorded by a magnetic path sensor. A photocell is used to refer the syringe.
The system has CAN interface, RS485, dual stepper motor control, rotary encoder evaluation and allows flexible programming.

Scalable optical light curtain for medical applications

For a device family in the medical field, a light curtain was needed (transmitter: beam angle 3%, emission wavelength 850nm, receiver: phototransistors). This is attached to the open front of the device. As soon as the user grabs the device, moving parts inside the device are shut down. This mechanism serves as a comfort and safety feature as the distance between the curtain and moving parts is very small and the machine can be stopped quickly enough.

Dual processor system for dialysis machines

The goal of the development was to develop new control and monitoring electronics for the new generations of dialysis machines. The complete system, consisting of a dual processor system with PC interface and a distributor board, was developed during the project and has IIC, CAN, USB interfaces and various sensors and actuators.

Railway / Automotive


Technology for buses and trains is demanding - special measures regarding operating conditions and environmental compatibility are required. We take this into account by optimizing the electronics and software for fault immunity.

LED display / scoreboard for bus and train certified to ISO

Redesign of a LED train display as part of the procurement of spare parts for the railway. This development project was completely handed over with the following features: 9216 pixels, robust controller interface, certified for bus and train, background suppression.

Fan control for the automotive industry - With dimmable LEDs and USB and slider interface

According to the client's specifications, the modules BR221 were developed and the components required for the demo setup were supplied. According to the agreements, the solutions had the following characteristics: microcontroller solution, USB interface, LED control (dimmable), resistive slider interface, 4-channel stepper motor interface, 5V power supply.

Automatic Passenger and Passenger Counting System - Reliable information on passenger numbers and traffic network utilization

The goal was to realize a sensor image electronics. An electronics assembly was manufactured according to the product specification and the necessary FPGA and PC software were developed.
Within the framework of the operated development, the following steps were performed: Functional definition of the assembly; Component selection; Development of circuit technology; Unbundling of the layout hardware; Organization and accompaniment of the equipment; Troubleshooting hardware; Adaptation of the FPGA software; New development FPGA software; Development of a PC control and readout software.

Embedded PC for bus and train - Cortex ™ -A8-based high performance system with a small footprint

The developed data recorder is a vehicle computer based on the Cortex ™ -A8 ARM® 32-bit RISC architecture with various peripheral and industrial interface support (IBIS data bus, 2 x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, microSD / microSDHC memory card, USB 2.0, USB micro (slave ) for service purposes, RS485 ± 25V RX / ± 5V TX, CAN 2 x CAN transceiver, quad band GSM 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz, GPRS, GPS, GPS: SMA socket, GSM: FMA plug, WLAN / BT4 + LE, 802.11b / g / n compliant, Bluetooth v4.0, antenna connector, RF connectors SMA, digital IOs).
The data recorder records during operation in addition to the location data, essential operating and maintenance parameters. These data are analyzed and transmitted to the background system via mobile radio.

The CAN, CANopen and EnergyBus data loggers developed by pironex GmbH are designed for the reliable acquisition and storage of measured data. From simple reading configuration to configurable storage, data reduction and transfer of data to higher-level systems, the measurement loggers meet all the requirements.

Dataloggers for commercial vehicles - Recording and storage of data of electronic control units in commercial vehicles

In a fully IP65 protected enclosure are 16 analog inputs with 24-bit resolution for current and voltage measurement or the direct connection of thermocouples, PT50 / 100/500/1000 resistance thermometers and strain gauges.
For data transfer to a cloud, the MQTT protocol is supported.
